Mission Statement Draft :: February 18, 2005

The Missouri S&T Office of Electronic Communications:

  • leads the campus wide effort to develop, provide and enhance a uniform web presence to internal and external audiences
  • facilitate the publication and repurposing of marketing materials for the university in an electronic online format
  • supports content authors in their efforts to make their own information available to their audience
  • works toward adoption of a standard web development platform for our users by:
    • Collaborating with Information Technology to determine the best technology solutions based on university needs and initiatives
    • Working to ensure usability of the web platform for, and acceptance by, our clients
    • Striving to match system functionality with existing skill sets of content developers within the university
    • Providing support to content developers with questions regarding usability, content guidelines, web standards, and related issues
